Providing Immediate Dentures in Edmonton
An immediate denture is a complete denture or partial denture inserted on the same day, immediately following the removal of natural teeth. Northview Denture Clinic provides immediate dentures in Edmonton.
We Offer a Variety of Dentures and Immediate Dentures in Edmonton
At Northview Denture Clinic, we are committed to offering quality immediate dentures.
Immediate dentures are also known as surgical dentures, as they are placed directly after the tooth extraction. They are an effective way to immediately replace your missing teeth so that you can get back to your confident smile.
At Northview Denture Clinic, we also provide other denture treatments, such as partial and complete dentures, implant-supported dentures, denture relines and repairs, and sports guards. Get in touch with us for more information.
Advantages of Immediate Dentures
Once you have immediate dentures, then you can experience the following advantages:
Immediate dentures protect your gum ridges from trauma and debris.
We can easily replicate the appearance of your natural teeth (if desired).
Patients do not have to go through the embarrassment of not having teeth during the healing process.
The denture will act as a Band-Aid to protect tissues and reduce bleeding.
Immediate dentures allow for better chewing, allowing for good nutrition during the healing process.

Post Immediate Denture Care
Even though immediate dentures are inserted the same day, they do require follow-up treatment.
You must not remove your dentures for 24 hours after your extractions. Once you have seen your denturist for a post operative assessment, you can remove your dentures and clean them with mild soapy water and the provided denture brush. At this point, you also are advised to regularly rinse your mouth with warm salt water which helps to expedite the healing process.
Initially, you can have soft foods in your diet gradually changing to firmer foods as you feel comfortable. Remember, healing varies from one person to another based on your dental and oral condition.
In the months following your extractions, as your gums heal, your denture will be relined with a temporary material to improve the fit and function. Once your tissues are fully healed (usually at least 6 months later), your denture will require a permanent reline.
The cost of your permanent reline procedure is not included with the cost of your immediate denture treatment.
